The township holds Shaler Area School District covering grades K-12. There’s no shortage of recreation options in this family friendly community. Fall Run Park offers waterfalls and a hiking trail, while Kiwanis Park hosts Community Pool, along with 9 other parks spread throughout the community. They offer a variety of activities from playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, and picnic shelters.
Award winning Shaler North Hills Library opened its doors in September 1942, and is a member of the Allegheny Country Library Association, which includes the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Family friendly events such as Light Up Night, and Community Day on July 4th with fireworks are just a few of the year-round events happening in Shaler.
